Architecture

I was first introduced to algorithmic design through my architectural studies. As an architect I led generative design and digital fabrication at the office of System Architects in New York City and served as the project architect for built works recognized for innovations in design and building techniques, including the Architectural Press Release Awards (2020, Global Future Design, 2nd Award), World Architecture Network Awards (2019, Gold Award) and AIANY Design Awards (2011, Interiors Merit Award).

I studied architecture at Washington University in St. Louis and Pratt Institute, and have taught architectural studios and generative design courses at Pratt Institute and The City College of New York.

A white perforated ceiling surface curving through a gallery interior, daylight passing through thousands of petal-shaped openings.
A perforated white screen wall in a dark room, its pattern graded from dense to open across the surface.
Warm backlit perforated panels forming a partition beside a lamp and low console.
A brick townhouse facade whose surface folds into tall vertical curves between neighboring buildings.
Looking up the same brick facade to leaf-shaped skylights set into the folded masonry.
Interior view through tall curved brick piers to the street and buildings beyond.
